One Direction is 100% one of my favorite groups.
One Direction gives the concept of a boy band a new meaning.
This group consists of:
Harry Styles- born in Evesham, Cheshire, England on February 1, 1994
Louis Tomlinson-born in Doncaster, Yorkshire, England on December 24, 1991
Niall Horan- born in Mullinger, County Westmeath, Ireland on September 13, 1993
Zayn Malik- born in St. Luke Hospitial on January 12, 1993
Liam Payne- born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England on August 29, 1993
One Direction began on Simon Cowell's X-Factor back in 2010 when all 5 boys auditioned but didn't qualify for the "Boys" catergory. Then, special guest judge, Nicole Scherzinger suggested that the boys form a band so they could qualify for the "Groups" catergory. They later in the series placed third on X-Factor and signed to Simon Cowell's record label. Then later signed to North America to Columbia Records. *information found from Wikipedia*
One Direction has taken America by storm with their newest singles "What Makes You Beautiful" and "One Thing" They have made guest appearance on shows like iCarly, Saturday Night Live, The Today Show, etc.
